Daniel James Gilstrap (he/him) is a fine artist focused on hooking viewers and transforming their perspectives through interdisciplinary offerings. In his current devotion to painted portraiture focusing on Black features and faces, as well as abstract pieces, Daniel provides a soft spotlight for his subjects and allows them to be in direct relationship with the audience. A lifelong enthusiast and active participant in both the visual and performing arts, Daniel’s work reflects impressions of his values and interests, and how they compliment or juxtapose the times he has lived through. Daniel is eager to make a meaningful contribution to the world by creating a grand body of varying artwork and creative experiences with his loved ones over the course of his life.
