My name is Daniel James Gilstrap and I am artists interested in transforming perspectives with my work. I wish to create a grand body of artwork and creative experiences with my loved ones over the coarse of my life. As a lifelong enthusiast and active participant in both the visual and performing arts, I am eager to make a meaningful contribution in return. My hope is through many mediums I can hook the audience with interesting offerings and impressions of the values and interests of myself and how it may compliment or juxtapose the times I live through. As an artist I am providing a soft spotlight and focus on many subjects and allowing it to have a direct address and relationship with the audience. My practices main focus currently is my painting work with a focus on portraiture work currently placing a spotlight on black features and faces and abstract pieces meant to help me with processing and expressing hidden emotions and unspoken feelings.
